The Grimstock Country House Hotel

With over 25 years experience of hosting weddings, we can provide the perfect venue for your special day. As a licensed venue you can have your civil ceremony here too, and we have a variety of function suites, menu options and there are 44 bedrooms for overnight guests.
We pride ourselves in our personal, attentive service where nothing is too much trouble. Our manager, Hilary Prince will personally manage all the arrangements. Whether you want a smaller reception in our beautiful Restaurant or want to hire out one of our function suites we will ensure you have the perfect day.

Wedding Receptions

Our main Wedding suite is the Gilson Suite, accommodating up to 90 guests for the Wedding Breakfast and up to 120 guests for the evening buffet. We have a number of smaller rooms that provide a more intimate setting for your wedding reception.

The Gilson Suite is an elegant oak panelled room. It has a private bar available (until midnight for an evening reception) and a foyer area. With room for 90 guests seated for a meal, or 120 guests for a buffet. Guests have full use of all the facilities of the hotel, including use of the grounds, lounge, free car parking, wi-fi access and use of the gymnasium.

The Garden Restaurant overlooks the landscaped gardens at the rear of the hotel. It benefits from natural daylight, oak panelling and a solid oak floor. This will comfortably accommodate parties of up to 60 guests.

The Forum Suite is a very popular choice for smaller weddings. It has a capacity of 30 guests, is oak-panelled and has a solid oak floor.

All of the above rooms are licensed for hosting Civil Ceremonies.

Civil Ceremonies

We have three rooms licensed for hosting civil ceremonies, accommodating between 30 and 90 guests. This is a wonderful venue to host your entire day. The hotel grounds are beautifully landscaped and ideal for photos, and to host your pre-reception drinks.

The Gilson Suite is our largest room suitable for 90 guests seated.

The Garden Restaurant overlooks the landscaped gardens at the rear of the hotel and will accommodate 60 guests

The Forum Suite is a smaller oak panelled room seating approximately 30 guests.

Food & Drink

We have an extensive menu selection to suit your reception. Choose a starter, main course and dessert from our main wedding menu, or enjoy our carved meat and fish buffet to complement a starter and dessert. Vegetarian options and a children’s menu are available.

There are nine main courses and seven starters on our wedding menu to choose from, all are priced individually so you can select a menu to suit your taste and budget.

We suggest three drinks packages, however we’re very happy to discuss alternative options for you:

Silver: Bucks Fizz on arrival, one glass of house wine, one glass of Asti for toasting
Gold: Pimms and lemonade, two glasses of house wine, one glass of Aimery Rose for toasting
Diamond: Kir on arrival, Two glasses of Pinot Grigio or Fleurie, one glass of champagne
For evening guests we offer different buffet options to include hot and cold food, salad, platters with a range of additional items available.
